چکیده

Multi-hop wireless communications are very promising technologies to provide high data rate transmission through wireless link in multi-hop networks. Packets transmitted over wireless link will go through a time-varying wireless channel resulting in queuing delay. For delay-sensitive applications it is very important and challenging to study end-to-end delay performance over multi-hop wireless transmission. In this paper, we study the impact of Doppler spreading on delay performance over multi-hop wireless communications. Delay performance with different Doppler spreading are compared and discussed under different traffic load conditions. It is found that end-to-end delay performance is better for larger maximum Doppler spectrum under wireless channel without decoding errors compared with that for smaller maximum Doppler spectrum.

A Hidden Node Aware Network Allocation Vector Management System for Multi-hop Wireless Ad hoc Networks

Many performance evaluations for IEEE 802.11distributed coordination function (DCF) have been previouslyreported in the literature. Some of them have clearly indicatedthat 802.11 MAC protocol has poor performance in multi-hopwireless ad hoc networks due to exposed and hidden nodeproblems. Although RTS/CTS transmission scheme mitigatesthese phenomena, it has not been successful in thoroughlyomit...

The Feedback Based Mechanism for Video Streaming Over Multipath Ad Hoc Networks

Ad hoc networks are multi-hop wireless networks without a pre-installed infrastructure. Such networks are widely used in military applications and in emergency situations as they permit the establishment of a communication network at very short notice with a very low cost. Video is very sensitive for packet loss and wireless ad-hoc networks are error prone due to node mobility and weak links. H...

Investigation of Underwater Acoustic Multi-path Doppler and Delay Spreading in a Shallow Marine Environment

INTRODUCTION The choice for the wireless transmission of data underwater is between electromagnetic waves (e.g. light or radio) or sound waves. Light and radio waves are valuable for high-rate data transmission through water over short ranges of the order of a few metres. When transmission is required over longer distances through water, sound waves are the only viable wireless option. Underwat...

Improving Long PN-Code Acquisition in the Presence of Doppler Frequency Shifts

Wireless communication is the major form of connection nowadays. In most cases it exploits the benefits of the spread spectrum techniques to overcome channel introduced corruptions like Doppler residual frequency, noise, interference and jamming. These techniques also enhance the security and quality of the link. Using long spreading pseudo-noise codes provides further security for the link tho...

Secure Routing Protocol: Affection on MANETs Performance

In mobile ad hoc networks, the absence ofinfrastructure and the consequent absence of authorizationfacilities impede the usual practice of establishing a practicalcriterion to distinguishing nodes as trusted and distrusted.Since all nodes in the MANETs would be used as router inmulti-hop applications, secure routing protocols have vital rulein the security of the network. So evaluating the perf...
